You can't really compare FMP and FMA in just about any way at all, since they're
totally different genres, but you really
can't compare their depth because FMA was 51 episode while FMP comes to a total
of 37 episodes. FMA had a much larger series length to make a deeper story.
Fumoffu doesn't count for series length because it had nothing to do with the
plot of FMP.
Plus the very setup of FMA sets up for a
deeper story, with otherwordly stuff and actual superpowers to make a story
based on. FMP was still limited in sci-fi-ness, so it had a more strict limit on
how deep the story could go.
In the end, these two series are by no means comparable whatsoever. The only way
they could be compared in a "which is better" context is by comparing
the number of fans for each.
There were some Jinki: Extend pictures posted last night, and I was wonderign
what happened to them. I was online from a different computer so I couldn't
download them at the time, and when I returned home, the pictures were no longer
up. Maybe I missed some kind of news, but can anybody tell me what happened?
Shana has been pre-licensed by Geneon since Geneon is in the productions credits
for the show. It hasn't begun its US release yet, just like Erementar Gerad, a
previous series that Geneon pre-licensed a while ago, so don't expect Shana to
hit stateside for a while. >.>
Yes this series is based on a novel series, 11 volumes and one prequel volume
long so far. (they're on the main Shakugan site, wwew.shakugan.com) A manga is
currently in publication with volume 1 being released 10/27/05 (tomorrow )
I've seen up to episode 3 (raw of 3), and this series rocks. Shana
is just so cute! ^_^
Word from the wise, forget EvalPower subs, as their subs of Erementar Gerad
sucked, and they do for Shakugan no Shana (Yes, I have seen their subs of both
shows, and I know Japanese). Eclipse does an excellent job on the subs, and
their episodes are smaller in size (Eclipse's is 170 mb, EP's is 230+ mb), so go
with Eclipse. If you go with EP, I can guarantee you will be confused as hell
by the end of episode 2.
I think Stellar is next to get knocked off, and not just because of all the
spoilers pointing to that result. Not that I want her to die, that's probably
how it'll turn out. The tragic death of the one he was coming to love to turn
Shinn around.
I think it's a case-by-case thing.
Bleach - Great manga. Great Anime.
Jinki: Extend - Great manga. Sucky anime. (after episode 4)

Jinki: Extend -Needs to be redone with a 24-26 episode schedule. Limiting it to 12 episodes ruined the first series and the greatness of the manga.
Rurouni Kenshin -The Revenge Arc (final arc) of the manga needs to be animated!

Ranma is good, but he's just not the "good" that Kenshin is.
FMP Fumoffu, hands down. The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi comes in close second.

The EP scanlations of the manga re better than their anime subs, but still significantly lacking in translation accuracy.
